Guided Experiences

Discover cultural experiences at Turtle Village ranging from storytelling and culinary gatherings to hands-on workshops and creative experiences on the land. We offer custom bookings for individuals, small groups, large groups, schools, and teams, along with select monthly public experiences guests can join throughout the season. Experiences can be added onto your Turtle Village accommodation stay, but guests are also welcome to book experiences without staying overnight at Turtle Village.

  • Auntie Bannock Experience

    Gather around the fire for a hands-on bannock and tea experience in Riding Mountain National Park.

    Make bannock over the fire, enjoy tea, and hear stories of the Anishinaabe and Ojibwe peoples and their connection to this land.

    This public experience is held once a month and is available for individuals, small groups, and large groups. You do not need to be staying at Turtle Village to book.

  • Taste Of Survival Culinary Experience

    Gather around the fire and experience the story of pemmican, a food that carried nations.

    Learn how food supported travel, trade, and survival through storytelling and hands-on preparation. Create a modern-day pemmican-inspired blend and enjoy traditional Indigenous tea.

    Available for individuals, small groups, and large groups. Can be booked on its own or added to your Turtle Village stay. You do not need to be staying at Turtle Village to join.

  • The Feather We Carry Workshop

    A hands-on workshop rooted in Anishinaabe teachings of identity, belonging, and living in a good way.

    Reflect on “Who am I?” through storytelling and a wooden feather painting activity while learning the meaning of the feather and Mino-bimaadiziwin.

    Available for individuals, small groups, and large groups. Can be booked on its own or added to your Turtle Village stay. You do not need to be staying at Turtle Village to participate.
